Our men's pyjamas are the foundation of the Derek Rose brand. The Rose family have been designing and making luxury men's pyjamas since the 1920's and we remain as passionate about these wonderful pieces today as we were all those years ago.
We understand the importance of resting in comfort and refinement and this drives our thinking from design through to production. This focus is why our classic men's pyjama is still considered the world's finest luxury sleepwear.
Everyone who knows Derek Rose understands the passion and dedication we have for both our construction and our fabric qualities. We use only the very finest materials in our pyjamas ranging from pure, lightweight supersoft cottons to luxury silk men's pyjamas.
Besides the quality of fabric, we focus on the quality of make, ensuring the best, most appropriate stitching is used in the right places to ensure the pyjamas last a long time and can handle the pressures brought to bear on the seams when one sleeps in them.
Of equal importance is the cut and style used in the pattern to make the pyjamas. This is a question of balancing form and function - we want the pyjamas to look good but we also need them to be as comfortable as possible. Naturally the cut is for a generous fit so that when one sleeps in a pair of our pyjamas they are not restrictive. The pyjamas feature one or three jacket pockets, rifle cuffs and genuine two button adjustable elasticated waistband (or tie waist pyjamas if you prefer). This ensures a perfect, comfortable fit. Deep hems on the trouser legs ensure the fabrics falls properly. The final touch is a small one but dear to our heart - matched striped on the pockets. Pockets shouldn't spoil the visual impact of the fabric so we don't let them.
The final key ingredient is fabric. This is a key factor that sets us apart from many other brands. We design our own fabrics in-house and control their production from the ground up specifying yarn type, construction and dye colours. This allows us to be sure the weight, handle and colours are perfect, which in turn ensures that we have a product that feels great on the skin, washes well and lasts a long time.
Visually our men's pyjama designs are a combination of classic designs that we have been running since the 1930's and more contemporary designs that catch the eye. The mixture of fabrics is rounded off by including different weights of fabric. Our range includes: lightweight cotton pyjamas; pure flannel cotton pyjamas which are ideal for colder climates; satin stripes are our regular weight pyjamas; full satin cottons are a bit heavier but have a wonderful soft sheen and finally our silk pyjamas are incredibly soft and light. We feel these weights, colours and designs create a wonderful selection that addresses the needs of the discerning gentleman.
